Hey Everyone,
It seems that this new license has put a crimp in the system. I'm here to say that this isn't confusing at all.
First off... Rion LOVES signature groups.
- Rion and I have spent a long time working out the details of bringing his images back to you all. Among those discussions the protection his "PinUp Toons" and their future were very much on the forefront of his mind. I absolutely assured him that CILM would do everything we could to protect his PinUp Toons. Now... one of Rion's biggest concerns was how tags with his images would be spread around. He does not, in the least, mind signature taggers tagging his artwork - obviously - or he wouldn't be on our CILM website. He wants you all to have more fun with his images than ever before. Trust me... there's more fun with your friendly neighborhood PinUp Toons coming up than you're going to be able to stand. He is concerned with sites that create tags and make those tags available to Social Network Websites.
Okay... let's define: "Social Network Graphics Websites"
Social Network Graphics Websites are websites that create tags (snags) for the general public (not taggers) for use on their social network pages such as MySpace, Yahoo 360, CharryTap, and many other social networks.
Here are some examples of these types of websites (this is just three examples... there are A LOT of these sites):

http://www.photocasket.com/
http://www.sexiluv.com
As you can see... these types of websites are not MSN Groups, Yahoo Groups, Google Groups, AOL Groups, personal websites that some of you have - they do not have anything to do with signature taggers socializing with other signature taggers. As a matter of fact... most of these websites are quite the contrary and even though they create signature tags they stay as far away from signature taggers as possible. These websites solely offer tags to the general public to decorate their Social Network (MySpace) Pages with.
The people that OWN one or more of these sites and wish to use Rion's artwork to create signature tags to place on their websites and offer to the MySpace public (includes other social networks as well) are the ones that need to purchase a Social Network License.
- If you are a signature tagger that does not own one of these websites then you DON'T have to purchase a Social Network License to use Rion's work in your tags.
- If you are a signature tagger that just wants to have fun with Rion's images in your MSN, Yahoo, Google, AOL Groups then you DON'T have to purchase a Social Network License to use Rion's work in your tags.
- If you are a signature taggers that owns your own website that shares fun signature tag tutorials with other signature taggers you DON'T have to purchase a Social Network License to use Rion's work in your tags.
- If you are a signature tagger that has your very own MySpace or Yahoo 360 page and you want to display your tags on your own page or give another MySpacer a copy of your tag you DON'T have to purchase a Social Network License to use Rion's work in your tags.
- If you don't know what a Social Network Group is such as MySpace, Yahoo 360, FaceBook, CherryTap and many others then you absolutely DON'T need to purchase a Social Network License to use Rion's artwork in your tags.
The message here is that if you are a regular signature tagger just having fun in your groups you can stay as far away from purchasing this license as you can. You can skip past that page and go straight to purchase Rion's packages.
Hopefully I've helped those of you that were upset or confused about this license to understand what this license is for.
Now... go and have fun with Rion's images in your groups. Stop worrying about this license that's making some of you fussy. The 1% of taggers that are supposed to purchase this license KNOW they are supposed to purchase this license. If you still don't understand what a Social Network License is then there's pretty much a 100% chance that you don't have to purchase this license just go get your PinUp Toons and have fun.
Please pass this around in your groups so that the understanding of this license is known throughout your groups.
One last thing: Many - not all - Social Network Graphics Websites are about as far away from being copyright conscious as possible and are not at all looked at in a favorable way by CILM artists. If you have your own MySpace page and you use graphics from these sites to decorate your page PLEASE make an effort to look through the pages of these sites before snagging from them. Many of them don't have appropriate licenses (if you see a CILM artist tag on their site you should see a CILM license number on it) and they could care less about breaking copyright law. If you know of a site like this please do everything you can to stay away from those sites. Just by simply going to their pages you are hurting the artists.
*NOTE: The website I mentioned as an example above, Sparkletags, is owned by a very wonderful lady that does everything she can to make sure she has appropriate licensing for CILM artists. My cautions about these websites does not include hers. Another EXCELLENT copyright compliant Social Network Graphics Website is Dragonfly Graphix http://www.dragonflygraphix.com . Take a look at Jenn's site and feel free to decorate you MySpace pages with her cool stuff.

i contacted them. if anyone would like to lend a helping hand maybe we can get there permissions again in the future if this is just a thing that has to run it's xourse like a bad fashion idea that takes off! anyway here is their reply!
