I am new to blogging to me it's like an open diary so here I go...
Hi! My real name is Andrea, I was born in Queens, NY till I was 15 and lived in Bayridge, Brooklyn, NY for 22 years till I moved to Staten Island, NY of July, 2005.
I had my 1'st son a month before my 21st birthday and my 2nd son in '94. I will be married for 14 years in June.
I was an Administrative Assistant but now I am disabled due to Lupus which really stinks for I envy to go to work and socialize with co-workers and use my brain again as I have forgotten so many words.
So instead back in January '03 I started helping a famous Decoupeur, Durwin Rice who I just happen to stumble upon in researching Decoupage to keep me busy and I love art. Anyhow, I ran his group for 2 years, we had a Decoupage Convention and unfortunately things didn't work out so I started my own group which is still running. I had fun with decoupage that I have a wall displaye on rods going down of Italian, Asian handmade, Australian, and othe beautiful kinds of decoupage paper. I had commissions, met friends who came to see me here to NY from Scotland, Germany, Norway, and 2 friends here in NY.
What changed me from Decoupage to Graphics is my husband's birth mother-in-law ( he was adopted and found his birth mother 4 years ago) she had given me psp 7 2 years ago and told me of a friend online that could help me and send me goodies who sent me psp 9. Well I got intrigued as I only used it to enhance photos which I still have trouble with LOL! but then I started thinking of how I can incorporate using psp with decoupage. So I bought the used dummies and idiot's guide book on psp 7 and learned how to erase the background to my images, configure the color set-up from the pc to the printer so that what you see is what you get when you print-out your images, and just played around and learned things on my own. The sad thing is the books don't go into any detail regarding graphics.
So here I was using backgrounds and images of fruit on top and printing it out onto one sheet of special paper and not having to cut the fruit out intricately anymore, though I wish I would have knew what I know today to have made that fruit come to life. Anyhow, at this point I wanted to learn more for I already knew all that I could on Decoupage and created my own waterbased sealer that is non toxic for decoupage trivets that is 100% heatproof, but it was time for me to move on and get this brain into something else that got me fascinated.
Well I typed in one day Paint shop Pro tutorials and sites came-up and I joined one site which is just tutorials, but then a member and our friend Pat told me about ClassicNancy's group so here I am since last Spring and was so happy and scared, and lost to find a whole new world that I didn't know existed.
To my amazement I was received with open arms when I joined. I was amazed with the response of help I would get especially poor Tori who I had a million questions for at that time LOL! and till this day if I ask a question somewhere out of the blue someone will answer. Thank you all for your help ;0)
The warm friendships through my ups and downs BIG HUGS to you all ;0)
Now I want to build my own website, create digiscrap and sooo much more AND THIS IS BECAUSE OF YOU ALL who got me addicted and taught me alot, still not quite there yet!! or as as putting out tags that is why I am not a swap partner for my friend would be waiting, waiting , waiting LOL! I am not fast in creating tags cause I like to change the design around when I can get to do so in my crazy life...then I get my lazy days or tutorials that you can't resist to copy cause they are just too cute and awsome, but it's the learning process, the challenge of art that keeps me going in my life.
Yes!! there are days you don't hear from me and I wish I could tell you everything for I deal with more than Lupus but my son who just turned 18 who is out of control that might have Bipolar which the description fits him. It is scary and I cannot concentrate when he is in my face taunting and cursing at me everyday (for he is home all afternoon). Yesterday was a breakthrough that his guidance counselor in his GED school investigated for me where we can get help, but then again we can't get him there unless he is willing.
So that's the story the Happy and the Sadness of Life and in the end what will happen is that my eyes will deteriorate from looking at this screen too much LOL! or better yet get sucked into it like "Poltergeist"
ROFLOMA!!!
